I have been a patient of Dr. Kamel’s for over 20 years. She delivered my second daughter and now both my daughters swear by her. I have always been treated with respect and care and receive prompt calls when necessary. She has taken excellent care of my daughters. I would not consider going anywhere else. The nurse practitioner Barbara is also terrific and Mary at the front desk goes above and beyond to help me with any insurance issues. I have and will continue to recommend them. Your Patient
From the person who made my appointment to the nurse who took my health history at the appointment, the staff was great! My appointment time happened as scheduled. I had my first visit to the Women’s Group of Northwestern today for an annual exam and to review results from an ultrasound. I didn’t experience a long wait time: ten minutes spent in the waiting room (while filling out paperwork) and another ten minutes to review my medical history with the nurse. I was seen by Dr. Stephanie Lau and she was wonderful- she has a really great bedside manner and was thorough and patient in discussing my exam and treatment options. I would highly recommend her to others looking for a gynecologist. Your Patient
I have been a patient since 1998 with Dr. Levit as my primary. Over the years I have been seen by many of the doctors and the NP’s and I have always had a very positive experience. I’ve never felt so welcome at a doctor’s office, if I could give six stars I would. The receptionist were very helpful and obviously on top of everything. Dr. Levin is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and really likable. I find myself wanting to make up reasons to go visit her.
Dr. Levin was recommended to me by a friend after I found out I was pregnant. I met with her and she listened to and answered any and all of my questions. She really helped us along throughout the entire process and my husband felt really comfortable talking to her. We had a few hiccups along the way and she was coordinating with us at every step.
Since it’s a practice, we worked with other MDs and NPs in the office and were quite happy. They responded quickly to midnight calls and seemed to genuinely care.
Our birthing experience was exceptional – I wouldn’t go to any other hospital! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great OB/GYN. She is clearly seasoned doctor with eons of experience, excellent bedside manner, and she truly has your best interest at heart. Your Patient

I feel cared for and listened to when I go in. She speaks frankly and professionally, but we have some laughs as well. I have had some health issues over the past year, and she has been attentive, helpful and encouraging in figuring out how to get me back on track. I went in today for a check-in about my medication, and felt relaxed after speaking with her.

I have seen Dr. Elena Kamel for a number of years for gyne services. She has been thorough, supportive and empathic. She gently confronted me on a serious weight problem and how it would affect my future life if I did not seriously deal with it. With her support, I was able to lose and maintain a big weight loss. Services are for the total woman. Pt’s are treated completely as the entire person that they are and they have a wonderful and totally therapeutic setting and staff. I’ve been going to this practice for 8… yes, 8 YEARS! Ive journeyed through my young to mid-twenties, and now into my 30s with the same group of docs and my experience has been great. I’ve had an appointment run late once or twice, and that’s probably it. When the appointments DO run late, the front desk tells me right away. You can also call the day of your appointment and select the option on the menu to find out how your doctor’s schedule is running. Anyway, I just had my first baby back in April. I did my rounds meeting with all of the docs and made it through all of them except 1. Guess who delivered my baby? The 1 doctor who I didn’t meet with! Even so, I had a good experience. I monitor my bills, I call the office when I have a question and they answer easily, the front desk is friendly, my doctor knows about me and who I am every time I see her. If I may offer a tip — show up early/on time to your appointment. If you aren’t there on time, don’t be surprised if they take the next patient who is there and ready to go. And when your appointment doesn’t start on time, maybe consider the reason they are running late, i.e. — someone is having a complication/issue that needs extra attention immediately. You would want to be treated same-day if something was seriously wrong, wouldn’t you? I sure would. Your Patient
I cannot say enough nice things about this office. Everyone is kind, professional, and seeks to develop a personal relationship with me. My mom and sisters are also patients and feel the same way.
I had a few OB-Gyns in Chicago before finding this practice and can safely say this is above and beyond the best of the bunch. They are smart and serious, yet warm and compassionate. I have been their patient for both annual gyne visits and as a pregnant patient and they have made being pregnant and seeing them VERY frequently a delight. Your Patient
I found this office through Yelp and I must say everything about the Women’s Group of Northwestern is amazing. The staff is friendly and informative from the first phone call, all the way through your service. The day of my appointment everything went smooth. I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff, the medical assistant took me back shortly after signing in and in no time Dr. Levitt was ready to see me. She is honestly the best doctor I’ve ever had. When I found out I had to have a hysterectomy, the only thing that kept me calm was knowing you would be the surgeon. For years I have admired you for being an incredibly intelligent and kind women. It is a privilege to know someone with such an amazing career and at the same time an amazing mother. I always enjoyed (oddly enough) my annual exam because I would be able to see you and hear about you and your family.
I want to acknowledge that day of my annual appointment in January. You and your staff (ultrasound tech) made me feel like I was the only appointment and never made me feel like I was taking up additional time. When in fact , my time was doubled with ultrasound, blood work and discussion about what you had found. It reminded me to never get frustrated if a doctors appointment is running behind… you never know what the person before you has just experienced.
You took a meeting with me and my husband to make sure we knew exactly what was going to happen before, during and after the surgery. You went above and beyond what most doctors would do. You never made me feel like it was just another one of your surgeries.
Every phone call I ever received from you or your staff was pleasant. I felt like everyone was rooting for me and for a successful surgery.
The morning of my surgery, I had fully expected to have (a mini ;-)) anxiety attack. However, when I met your staff and saw your face, I to my surprise, became calm. The anesthesiologist was such a treat of a person. She spoke of to me and looked at me with such a calm demeanor. I couldn’t believe I was lucky enough to be surrounded by such strong and competent professionals, including the residents. The male resident who visited me in the mornings was a genuinely nice person and I was glad he was assigned to me.
I cant thank you enough for making this a less frightening experience. I truly appreciate everything you did. Sincerely your patient

I am a patient of Dr. Elena Kamel at the Women’s Group of Northwestern. She has been absolutely wonderful during all of my three appointments. This is my first pregnancy and it’s not an easy process for me. After the first visit I was convinced that I was in good hands. After the initial consultation she made all my worries go away. I was very worried about my physical exam, but she performed the examination so gently that I was surprised she was already done, because I did not even feel anything. Dr. Kamel took her time to address all of my questions. She is very knowledgeable in her field, very sophisticated person and truly one of the best OB/GYNs in Chicago. It was my first time coming to see a gynecologist and I was honestly terrified. My appointment was with Dr. Kamel and she made me feel so comfortable and calm. Although she has a busy schedule, she is well worth the wait. The Women’s Group of Northwestern offers the best services with the highest standards.
